UGC (The University Grants Commission) organizes the examination of NET (National Eligibility Test) twice in every year for the selection of lecturers of college and university. Every year a huge crowd of candidates take part in this examination. This year UGC NET examination was held on 24 June 2012 and more than 5 lakh candidates were appeared in it.

Finally, the results of UGC NET 2012 has been declared and the candidates can check their results on the main official website of UGC – www.ugcnetonline.in. According to the UGC’s official statement, this year around 43,957 candidates have qualified the test and 3,625 candidates have qualified for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).

NET examination takes place two times in a year to check the eligibility of interested candidates for the JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) Award and for Lectureship in Indian universities and colleges which depends performance of the candidate in all three papers of NET. UGC conducts NET in 78 subjects at 74 selected university and centers in all over the India. The universities, institutions, IITs and other national organizations may select the JRF awards for whole time research work in accordance with the procedure prescribed by them.
